I love beeswax candle making for many different reasons, not only is it earth friendly, it is also inexpensive and easy to do. There are several ways to make beeswax candles and some of the ways are a bit more complicated than the others. This article is going to cover the most simple way that you can make a beeswax candle, this is the rolled beeswax candle.
It is so easy to do that this craft is perfect for young children or anyone who wants to make a candle at home. All that you need is a cotton wick, and a sheet of beeswax, that is all! We use a cotton wick for this project as cotton wicks are all natural, just like the wax. Also, you do not need to use any color as you can easily find beeswax sheets that already have colors, colors like red, blue, or even all natural colors, and soft colors. And as far as fragrances go, beeswax comes with its own all natural scent. So are you ready to get started with beeswax candle making?
All that you need to do is to find a flat and level surface around your home and lay some newspapers or cardboard on it in order to keep it protected. Now once this is done simply take one of the flat sheets of beeswax and lay it across the surface. Now take the cotton wick and lay it at the edge of the sheet, the edge that is closest to you.
Now begin to roll the sheet up, make sure you keep a balance as you do this, you need to press down firmly to keep the sheet level and straight, but you can not press too firmly as you can crack the beeswax sheet. Continue to roll the beeswax sheet up, keeping it straight, once you reach the end simply smooth your finger over the crease to help keep it in place. If you want the candle to be thicker then simply roll it up in to another sheet of beeswax, you can easily make multicolored candles this way.
And you are done with beeswax candle making, this is absolutely the easiest way to make beeswax candles, or even candles period. If you are new to candle making, or even if you just want to make some great candles fast then rolled beeswax candles are perfect for you!
